DEVELOPING THE IN-BETWEENER ATHLETE
WHAT IS AN IN-BETWEENER?
Kids who find that mainstream sports teams are either too advanced or not a good fit socially, but they are too developed for existing Special Olympic programs.
WHO WE ARE
We exist to serve, equip, and support the neurodiverse by integrating sports with learning life-skills, personal development, and facilitating skill-appropriate careers.
WHAT WE DO
Provide a much needed solution in-between mainstream sports programs and The Special Olympics. A place designed to create a community of inclusion.
WHO WE SERVE
We have a diverse student population that includes students with autism, ADHD, social communication disorder, and other closely related challenges.
OUR SERVICES
SOCIAL OUTLET & COMMUNITY
Build friendships with like-minded peers, confidence, and social skills. Our parents also become part of a special community that knows what it’s like raising children with unique challenges.
INCLUSIVE TEAM ENVIRONMENT
Our activities are focused on sensory-appropriateness, age, skill-level and inclusion so that no child feels behind or left out. We select specific and suitable environments that best accommodate our students’ athletic and social needs.
MUCH NEEDED PHYSICAL ACTIVITY
Our approach to physical activity serves as a non-clinical alternative to occupational therapy. While we participate in a number of sports, our main focus is golf, as it provides an outlet to play socially or competitively for a lifetime.
